Halifax Websaver - Not Even a Savings Account!!!

Now paying 0.1% on my boyfriend's savings.. I am disgusted.
He only has £1000, he's a student and he's worked hard to build up that nest egg.
What can we do with this now? We need instant access savings for this. He already has an ISA with NS&I (direct one so OK rate, better than 0.1%!!!)
Needs to have online access, no minimum balance and faster payments as a preference.

I have found this: http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/isa-direct-reward.asp?!!!!!hpc_pos4_savings
But min bal £1000 would leave (I have found) OH with only £300 available emergency money. I need to check with him later (he is out) that that would be OK. He could also transfer his NS&I ISA here ( at 1.8% at the moment) so could kill 2 birds with 1 stone?Kavanne

ISA makes sense.
If you like the convenience of being with Halifax online, Web Saver Extra (2%) allows 1 withdrawal a year.
Norty people would withdraw the whole balance when needed, then close it.
And then open a new one a few days later.0 -
Open a BOS Instant Access Saver - that pays a higher rate and you can view through halifax online banking0

OH says he's happy with the ISA as it means he can bring his ISA back from NS&I so is simplifying his finances lol. He can't cope with too much hassle, bless.Kavanne

Bizarrely if you get a cashcard for the Variable Rate Web Saver at the moment the interest rate actually goes UP (to 0.25%). That's 2.5 times as much as the account without cashcard on balances under £5000!!!:huh:0
