Can i ask what some of you ladies recommend for glass and mirrors please. I thought i was being helpful and cleaned the inside car windows for husband but they are so streaky. I need to go over them with something. I used some glass wipes but i seem to have made them 10x worse than what they were before.

White vinegar and scrunched newspaper or "windowcleaners scrim" which you can get at haberdasherys. (note, NOT white WINE vinegar, which would be far too costly, and I'd be tempted to lick the windows when desperate!)

Jamtart - great going this morning! I had barely risen, when you had nearly finished!

Sending positive vibes to SS - I had an interview last Tuesday, in a completely different field (I want out of Law!) and empathise with the nerves - we are all, however, amazing people, and can achieve anything if we put our minds to it!! Good Luck!

Washing is on from laundry upstairs, bed stripped, floor picked up - now to dusting and hoovering.

It's bin day today - does emptying all bins and putting them out count as a binbag dance?

I have to fling/rehome/charity bag 60 things an hour. Makes a huge difference to the house and it's amazing how many times you can do it!

    Afternoon all

Two loads of washing done, some out on the line and some draped round indoors.

I've stripped and remade my bed. The spare room bed was made up yesterday. I've cleaned all the mirrors and the windows that weren't done earlier in the week. Dusted and polished everything, including the tops of the wardrobes and bathroom cabinet and lampshades. Got DH to clean the glass in the skylights above the bedroom doors before he went to work.

Vacuumed right through all the bedrooms, the landing and the bathroom/toilet floors. No floordrobes to clear and all the cupboards are sorted.

Toots - I think this covers the spare room etc. and my bedroom is all done too.

I was going to do the bathroom and toilet but DD2 turned up, I'm hoping to get that done after dinner/before Neighbours.

Time to serve up, back later :)

Making some headway with the garage - have found the floor and worksurface - decluttered 17 empty packing boxes to a friend who's moving house soon, have got a bootful of stuff for the charity shop and half a box of videos/books/drawing paper for my niece - good job its bin day tomorrow as have chucked 5 black bin liners of stuff to the trash but need some help to shift the piece of plasterboard thats blocking the door before I shift in some of the gardening stuff - am just stopping for a spot of lunch then will sweep up the leaves on the floor.

    Pollybear - cripes, you've been busy 00020149.gif

    WELL DONE!!! :T :T :T :T

Freedom, don't panic! Just be methodical, and take things one step at a time. If the worst comes to the worst you will just have to scoop everything off the beds into a pile on the floor and then tackle the pile in the morning.

I've put everything from the shredding pile on the bed. It's a huge amount! And as it was against the outside wall of course it's all damp. Have done a bit of it. The shredder only lets you do about five mins at a time and then it wants a rest, a bit like me really!
The plumber is here. I'm very impressed, he said he would be here "early afternoon" and he pulled up outside at 12:02! I will be able to wash up when he's gone. And put some washing on.
I've also tried to do some online surveys, but I got most of the way through one and the internet went. This is the second time this has happened during a survey, so I'm not going to do anymore until we get the modem fixed. I want more points!

QUESTION: on the living room list there is "wipe sofa" and "wash soft furnishings." Our sofa and armchairs are covered by throws, so if I wash those, do I still need to "wipe sofa"? If I don't wipe sofa and by some miracle do all the other things on the list, will I get a star still? If I "wipe sofa" is it meant to be the whole thing?

Toots, as I don't have a spare room/children's room I've kind of made up a list for the day.
How does this look as a list? Would I get a star for this?
