Back from Mr M and all put away

PenPen - he has just turned 7. All my boys talk nonstop, the others are nearly 15 and nearly 13. One I am convinced would make a great sports commentator! I always chatted to them nonstop when they were babies/preschoolers so I'm sure that has 'helped'. It means I always know what is going on in everybodies lives and often other Mum's phone me to ask me things cause they know one of mine will have told me. You son sounds really bright. I often get to 8 and say no more questions I have run out of answers

Twinmummy thanks for the links, I've run loads of stuff for the techies and am awaiting the next step but if I don't hear I'll try your links.

Hex enjoy the garden - I'm changing plans and gardening once I've got the washing out too.

Polly - hope you get the wardrobes back so you can get to bed.

    Late start but I'm here....of sorts :D

I've been a busy bee already - DD's uniform ironed (too tired last night by the time I'd got her into bed), her boots polished (I could have sworn I did them on Friday but obviously not :confused: ), wash load I did last night out on the line, and another load is sitting in the machine waiting to go on...all before the school run :D:j

Been to the job centre this morning as well. They've said I don't have to look for work as DD isn't 10 yet (although next year the age comes down to 7 so I will have to look) unless I am on a course (she's checking Thursday whether my degree would count ;) ) so I'm happy there. :D Then I popped into the council one-stop-shop and asked about my housing benefit situation. I'm due to sign a new tenancy agreement at the end of the month, but I'm on the old rules so I only get £75 a week although my rent is £85. The very helpful lady said if I cancelled JUST my housing benefit for 1 week and made an appointment to reapply the following week I could do on the new rules system which is my full rent up to a certain amount and upto an additonal £15 :D So that in effect would increase my income by £40 a month minimum :j Now I just need to remember to sort it out on the 27th I think...will leave it as late as possible towards the new agreement just incase my landlady needs to put the rent up ;)

I'm going to try and do some jobs this week but asda has just arrived...back with a list later...

The carpet man has finished and gone. I've given it a good vacuuming and thrown the rubbish away. The bigger leftover bits will have to go up in the loft. Now I'm itching for DH to get back so we can shift furniture. It's hard work and I just want to get it over with.

Washing is drying well, I reckon it will be done after dinner.

The cats are sneezing (glue from carpet laying!)
  • Morning all

Am in again this week but working around builders - they're repointing the back of the house so the back garden and patio are now under a good coating of brick dust - think most of my flying this week will be keeping that in check

    Today's list:-

    HHI
    Tidy laundry room
    Put away all ironed clothes
    Spanish revision - sections 4-6
TMA - listen to extract and write out, finding any good constructions to borrow
    Cheque into PO
    Withdraw cash
    Walk/run tonight
Put turkey in to marinate for curry

I was hoping for a lie in today but DH suprised me a couple of days ago, saying that he'd arranged for the building work to be started today - must make sure that they won't be doing the work for the downstairs loo until middle of next week as I'm on nights all weekend and heads will roll if i'm sleep deprived.

Will be ploughing my own furrow this week as regards lists so no stars but I'm planning to try and start sorting out the garage if the weather's up to it - will need to find space for the garden stuff when the storeroom goes.

Off to find something to gnaw on - HHC at 12?
    I'd rather be watching CSI!
