haggling tactics

im due an upgrade with o2, the phone im wanting is the samsung d600, however they are wanting £120 for it, i want to stay with o2 but i can get this phone for free if i go to orange on a £25 a month contract, i told this to the person on the phone and the best they could do was knock £10 of my tarrif, my tarrif is currently £20 a month, so i would be paying £10 a month, i
tried telling them this wont be good enough because it means me having to pay £120 in the one go for a fone i can get for free elsewhere, but i hjave been with o2 for 3 years and dont really want to leave them

any other ideas as to what i can do to get this phone ?

my next resort is the nokia 6111 which i can get for free, but i really want to samsung !!!

  • Whats the reason you want to stay with o2? If its because of coverage, you could just take out a new o2 contract with a different billing provider. Eg if you current contract is with o2 shop, you could take one through cpw, and you're billing provider would be different, so you'd get the benifits of a new contract, without really having to change your network. Although I'm not sure if you'd get a free handset for the tarrif you're on now (is it leasure time plus?) good luck
  • Quite them other current offers, I did the same for the OH upgrade, they wanted to give me double minutes but I said it's of no use so they gave me a £10 discount and a free Nokia 6230i instead, had only been with them for a year.
2p off is still 2p off!
  • just want to stay with them because ive been with them for 3 years and have had no bother watsoever, plus its an online tarrif i have and no one can beat it, ive been trying for the past 3 years and still no one can beat it, £20 a month, 500 text, 500 mins, 50 mins any network

managed to haggle down to getting the d600 for £60 and getting £10 of my tarrif, so my tarriff is now £10 per month, im pleased with that

That sounds really good to me, I'd be pleased with that too! Well done.
