Thanks Baldur, I'm getting confused with all the varying rules for different types of savings accounts. I'm sure they do it to try and trip up the unwary!

me too - so now I keep it in a spreadsheet with dates and minimum amounts highlighted

Good idea, I've got quite a few investments that I need to keep a proper track of now that the rates are so low.

has anybody transferred from issue 2 to issue 3? Was interest paid at time of transfer?
I transferred mine 2 weeks ago which was a painless 5 mins on phone and account number stays the same. I am sure she said interest would be credited in a few days.

Received statement today which is dated 14/03/08 (day after transfer) and says it is issue 3. Interest last paid 2/03/09. Online balance today shows same as statement

    History of account
few years TOISA - interest paid 1st March
converted to direct isa 20/03/07 - interest payment made 27/03/07
    interest 01/03/08
converted to direct isa issue 2 28/07/08 - interest payment made 30/07/08
    interest 02/03/09

I maybe slightly out on conversion dates above but it does look like interest payments were made on those occasions but not this one? Wish I had carried out the transfer on 02/03 now to simplify things. Why don't I do things straight way !!

So before I call them just wondered if anyone else upgraded theirs to issue 3.

    Hi elektra

I transferred my issue 2 to issue 3 yesterday so I'll let you know what happens.

Last year, when I transferred two ISAs into issue 2, I got my interest on each account on 1 March and then interest for the remaining month was credited to the issue 2 account at the time of transfer.

Is not the Direct ISA Issue varying rates dependant on the amount you are investing ?

    2.5% under £9k
    3% over £9k

I currently have dircect isssue 2 (08/09) with interest paid on the March 2nd valued at £10500.

I presume the best option for me would to continue with issue 3 as all the top paying accounts do not accept transfers in ?

    What do you reckon ?

    Cheers

Just checked my account which shows interest for the rest of March on transfer from issue 2 to issue 3.
