  • I think that oil heater will have to be chucked out at this rate, the kids'll have to freeze at breakfast! It's interesting you can work out kwh use on each wash. I wonder if I could get away with one white wash a week - the drum would be jammed packed. I'd be interestd to know about tv's as have 26" in kitchen, one of the big old ones and that's on a lot (Loose Women moi?)

    Old TVs and LCDs not so bad. Plasmas carbon naughty. Thing with TVs is that, like fridges and freezers, they don't look expensive to run until you work out the total over a few hours. Ours doesn't go on until about 9pm for us (laptop and radio on all day when I'm home) but the kids have theirs on from 3pm, or before if one is home with nothing better to do. Over a school holiday, we really notice the difference.
