Investments via Discount Brokers: Class A vs Class X

hey everyone,

I've been looking at various investment funds and I'm thinking of using some of my ISA shares allowance... but was wondering if you could explain something to me. I've looked at , say, the M&G Recovery Fund: http://www.h-l.co.uk/funds/security_details/sedol/3195970

The one on h-l are "class x" shares, which as I understand it, don't have any upfront fees anyway, and a diminishing exit fee over a number of years.... so you don't save that much going via the discount broker. But there's also an alternative "class A" set of shares, where there are fees, but don't seem to be available via h-l? What's the difference? I guess they're not exactly the same if one has fees and one doesn't?!

Hope that makes sense. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the terms.

Thanks

James
