don't assume that the larger one is either day or night, the readings may have clocked over!

My meter is Rate 1 - Night
    Rate 2 - Day

Don't assume - check for yourself, I have just found out Eon have been transposing my meter readings as they had my Rate 1 as day and Rate 2 as night. All meters are different.

this is the first time iv posted so hope i get it right!!
Currently having a nightmare with two electric companies scottish power and british gas.
basically in december i moved in to 1bed flat and asked for a credit meter to go in based on a e7 meter so they out one in its a digital meter with one number displayed then you press a blue button and the other meter reading is displayed. Basically after a month of being on this meter i noticed my reading was extremely high so i asked bg what i would be owing them and they said a massive 260 quid i nearly died. then the nice man decided that the rates day/night must of twisted them selves so he untwisted it and it reduced to 146 which i still think is a hell of a lot. so i switched off all storage heaters and hoped by the following month things would be slightly better. no my meter readings have doubled despite being extremely careful and not using storage heaters. have just recieved a 430 pound bill from bg for a two month period and from looking at the bill i can see that they have twisted it again!!
I have phoned and phoned and phoned and they keep saying that as i ahve now switched providers they are not going to help because that the way manweb manage their readings but as during the day i know which reading flashes and goes up and which doesnt i know i am right any help? and why am i using so many units?
