Kingston Communications scam (Hull area)

What is it with this monopoliser of communications?!

I really want to be able to participate in online gaming meaning an ethernet wireless adaptor (i think!).

Kingston Communications say I have to have a landline (which i dont want!!) at £10 a month pluys then my internet service at £16 a month !!

Surely there must be someway us poor unfortunate souls can be allowed to deduect these costs.

I currently access the internet via a Vodafone dongle which plugs via USB into the back of my laptop but this is unsuitable for onlien gaming which i require.

Any ideas or advice please anyone??

The only way you can get fixed broadband only in the UK is from Virgin Media Cable, if you live in one of their areas. Failing that you need a landline to get it.

Internet via the cellular network (your Vodafone dongle) is fine for casual use, but for online gaming the reponse times are attrocious - 300ms+ compared to lower than 30ms for UK servers on a landline broadband ISP.

Even if you could get a little device to let you convert your dongle to ethernet, the response times would cause continuous lagging and stuttering in games.
