This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...
Hello everyone
. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

Evening budgeteers or should that be morning now.
This week I am going to try and reduce my weekly £30 to £25 and then if I make green reduce by £5 every week until I am at £10. All the extra can go into a treat fund (not sure what but I am sure I will think of something )
Looks like it has been a brilliant week folks lots of green. Gold star to Raychee for the purple :T:T:T:T
I have had the most hectic day I left the house at 8am this morning and was in the library until 7pm:eek: The wonder of upcoming essays. But I have sorted out the kitchen which was a mess, done the food shopping and have dinner for tomorrow in the slow cooker so a tiring but productive day.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the new thread once more.
I'm determined to make March a good one and will spend less and save more. Each week I'm determined to stick to a budget of 20 or 30 pounds.
This week I'll go for £20 for everything. I'm determined to get some no spend days in there too.
xLooking forward to the future.0 -
Morning all!
I had a NSD yesterday which got my week off to a good start
Today I am going to our local shopping centre though, where temptaion lurks behind every corner :rotfl: I'm only going to get my new glasses and some groceries though, so it should be ok. This week, my £50 is covering everything, so the groceries will be declared later on today. I'm not counting them for the NSD Challenge though as they are budgeted seperately. Confusing? Non!0 -
I know today isn't going to be a NSD today because I'm going to a local gig tonight - but maybe I can get a certain bass player to buy me a coke
hehe!
PP - I have a three-hander called Eleemosynary 18-20th March, then off to France with the play I just did for a few days at the end of the month. I'm in a few things at Kingston Festival in July, but I have to get my First firstso that's my main focus until June.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone xx2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Hi,
I'm late again! Managed to stick to £20 in my purse last week but 'cheated' by using my debit card once.
Can I go for £20 again this week?
Thanks

First spend of the week for me....groceries.
£11.54 spent in Morrisons and I've put the 46p change into my Sealed Pot, so that's me at £12 already. I forgot a couple of things too so I will have to go back later on - didn't buy anything to go in my sandwiches at work. D'oh!
Not all of the £11.54 was groceries though, so I won't be able to count this on the NSD challenge - I bought the Telegraph so I could get the free cookbook and it's a good one. If only it didn't have NOT FOR RESALE on the back cover :rotfl:
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone, I will be back with more confessions once I have gone back to the supermarket0 -
Hello.
I have a very happy £20 note in my purse this week... But I reckon that this week's budget is £15, as I know that £5 of that is needed for top-ups.
So, please put me down for £15.

Hi Pointy Penguin
Well after a couple of weeks of not being very careful, here I am again...you may slap my wrist!!
I'm hoping to stay within £7.50 this week, and every week for the rest of March as I've challenged myself to make an extra £100 towards debt repayments, so I need to make a little sacrifice!
So sign me up please...I must be green at the end of the week!

Evening all.
First post has been updated with results and pledges.
chrissie57 I was not sure if you were green or red for last week let me know and I will update as you.
good luck babs2008 you and me both need to make it a good March.
F_F I went food shopping last night and managed to spent £60 which is not bad as I haven't really been for a couple of weeks and we now have most things for the rest of the month except veg and meat which come from the farmers' market. I did manage to sneak in a few extra items like a blank recipe book thing in which I can organise all my recipes before I lose them all.
Raychee I am envious of your happy £20 note my money usual jingles and never looks happy to me.
Hope you have a good week Beencounting. I think your username is fab always makes me smile as I like a good pun.
Anyway for me today I walked into town went to library then to cinema. Only spends not budgeted for elsewhere were sandwich and crisps from Boots for £1.14 as they were reducing all the sandwiches.:j:j:j:j:j:j:jWeekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30
