freesat - sky

i have sky plus and an hd box although do not subscribe toHD

Could someone explain in simple terms what Sky freesat is.
i know there would be no subscription but would i be able to purchase
The sports channels on a package to supplement the programmes on
Freesat. We also have multiroom Sky. Its getting extremely expensive.
My husband is disabled and is home all day so Sports is important to have
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

    Sky freesat is basically freeview but through your sky equipment. No subscription, just cost of the equipment which you already have, so it wouldn't cost you anything. You can't augment freesat with premium channels. If you want them you need to have a proper sky subscription.

    Also if you took Sky Freesat you would be no longer eligible for Sky Talk/Broadband , as you must have an active Sky digital subscription ("Sky TV") under a Sky TV subscription contract to get them.

    There is strictly speaking no such thing as Sky Freesat, it is known as FresatfromSky, all very confusing I know.


    " Freesat " is nothing to do with Sky, it is a free system.;)
