    That log looks fine now.

Did you try adjusting the size of the recycle bin?

Am trying that at the mo, but the pic on the link you sent me is nothing like the pic i have up on here now which is confusing cos I do have admin privilages, and am the only user on the computer??? God i hate vista.

ahhhhhhh it's cos its a shortcut and not the actual bin i think, which doesn't help my brain much.

It might be worth checking this process out:

    C:\Windows\adiras.exe

Its a valid program for usb modems but not sure if it should be running from this location. Obviously if you haven't got a usb modem then it may be a nastie.

Have just used Treesize but it didnt tell me much, Free space: 2gb (of 32gb). It had 8gb on the C drive all of it in the following files:
    *Program files
    *N360_BACKUP
    *MSOCache
    *Boot
*and in 3 random long numbered files totalling 9mb

Think this may have been the reason the above is so little maybe, it says "access is denied" on the System Volume Information folder:confused:

Treesize should tell you quite a bit! The main thing it should tell you is (1) which folder/ files take up the most space (2) which extensions has the most number of occurrences on your pc and where they are located (3) the top 100 biggest files (4) the chart can be quite handy too.
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

Vista does lots of shadow copies in SysVol.

A quick google should show you how to turn it off!

"To turn off volume shadow copy, first bring up the System Properties window by going to your start menu, and opening up the Control Panel. In Control Panel, click "System and Maintenance". in the window that opens, click "System". On the left panel, look for a line that says "System protection" and click it. The Windows User Account Control, or UAC, will pop up. Click the "Continue" button. In the dialog box that appears, you should be able to see a list box with all the available drives on your computer. Next to each drive is a check box. If there is a check in the box next to the drive, it means volume shadow copy, along with System Restore, is enabled for that drive. To disable volume shadow copy, simply uncheck the box. A dialog box will appear asking if you are sure you want to turn off System Restore. Click the "Turn System Restore off" button. Finally, click the OK button."

    or http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/07/01/disable-and-turn-off-system-restore-shadow-copy-in-windows-vista/

This will disable system restore, but should free up space. Think you can reenable after the space is freed, but I didn't.
