    Hi
I have been with scottish power since july i am on the online tariff and it has been great a lot easier than waiting for the quarterly bill to arrive.
I always enter my meter readings on the last day of the month and the bill is ready in about 1 day and then i just save a copy on my computer or you can print a copy out if you want.
If you can tell scottish power the total kwh you use per year they will set the direct debit up by this.

What would happen if you simply cancelled your direct debit? Would they shut off your supply?
No, they will simply transfer you to their normal tariff and so not give you the discounts that probably make SP cheaper.

Remember that SP cashback via quidco et al takes several months to ensure you are actually take the offer as advertised - if you contact them to modify the deal or otherwise fail to keep to the terms of the deal, they may not pay the cashback.

scottish power are only taking dd customers
If that were to be the case, it sounds like it's in breach of their supply licence which requires them to "offer the customer a wide choice of payment methods" including payment by cash

Scottish Power are still advertising on their website the ability to pay their bills via cash (or cheque)

well its been 3 weeks and still no forms from scottish power for quarterly bililng, so i suspect theyre not taking customers who want to pay this way "unofficially"
as i said before im not bothered now as with ebicos price drop they are now cheaper for me - but thats not the point.
it would be interesting to know the truth, as i said ive made several phone calls for the forms but none arrived, hardly wanting my business are they.

no no forms, useless in my opinion.
you would have thought the forms would have been in the post within a couple of days for a new customer, and how they wish to pay shouldnt be an issue.
