Hotel stay in London in April

It might be an idea to have a look at the last sale thread on this site as people managed to book rooms from 2am (not via the sale link as not live, but by going into the saver rooms on the site), so if the same happens again a lot of rooms in London may be gone at 6am. At 6am the site kept crashing and throwing people out due to sheer volume. It was recommended to use www.travelodge.co.uk/mobile to book at that point, but all hotels were not listed on it. You would be best to look at Liverpool St as a 5 min walk to Spitalfields, Tower Bridge 10 mins, Aldgate East and City Road 15 mins walk first. Book as soon as you get availability for the price you want or it will go whilst thinking.

Croydon in Surrey is about 15 miles from Spitalfields . It is not on the tube but has a BR station. A friend of mine lived there for a while and it took about an hour to get into London and fares were expensive.0 -

thanks for the info. I can see that wed night/thurs morning will be a long night for me! :rotfl:0 -
15 mins Croydon into Victoria not an hour-but then Victoria to Spittlefields via the tube. I wouldn't consider it -with rail fares you'll end up paying more.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

Thanks Duchy. That's drawn a line through Croydon for me.
Heathrow area may be an option as at least I wont have to get on a train and its Tube all the way. But still about an hours travel!
Park royal for that matter is a viable option that susancs suggested. I think I am being romanced by the thought of Nandos every night though!:p0 -
Cracked it £195 for 5 nights right by the EXCEL centre so right on the dlr.
PMing you the details -you can share once you've booked it (don't want anyone grabbing the last room before you !

east croydon to LBG is like 20 mins max (depending on which fast train u get). from there u walk for about 10-15 mins or if your not familiar with the area, walk to monument (over the bridge - 2 mins walk) and get the circle line round to l'pool street.oo that sounds ok. How far is it from Spitalfields? Decent transport links etc?0 -

Thank you so much Duchy:beer:
I was just going to book but have decided to chance my arm and go for the Travelodge sale. Risky, I know!
Wish me luck.
Is it asking too much to try to get people here to boycott the Travelodge site til after I book?:rotfl:0 -
