I currently have a 12 month contract through E2save i'm currently in the last month of the contract and the end date is the 28th March.
I'm wanting to upgrade my phone thru o2 and o2 have said I can do this from today as i'm in the last month.
E2save have said if my tariff changes before the 12months are up then I would not be able to claim my last cashback.
When would be the best time for me take up a new deal through o2 and still be able to claim my last cashback thru e2save?
Thanks

After the full 12 months are up.0

thanks mobilejunkie
So if at that time I dont get a decent deal with o2 and wish to leave would I still need to give them 1 months notice or will they cancel my contract or give me a pac code straight away?0 -
Not sure - I never get pac codes so someone else will be better placed to answer that, though I think you'd get the code quickly but still have to pay for the notice. Why not get a better deal with Mobiles2yourdoor and leave O2? I doubt O2 will give you anything as good provided you are competent to claim the cashback (otherwise avoid!).0

You always have to give them (and pay for) a month's notice, irrespective of whether or not the minimum period is up or you are leaving with a PAC0

So, does that mean that the best time to upgrade/going through retention is after the anniversary date?
eg after the 28th march for the OPMore bearish than bullish at the moment0 -
It all depends on the statement date. As long as the one for the last cashback claim is correct the upgrade should be ok immediately after that date - the 30 days' notice will need to already have been given unless you are prepared to over-run. Also some networks delay the final bill - O2 is one of them. Usually the final bill will be the month following the last claim rather than the bill used for that claim. As always, general answers are not always accurate and people playing with cashback deals really need to understand them inside out before a) taking one up or b) taking risks with the t&c.0

My wifes cashback deal requires sending in the bill dated for March. This actually coincides with the 12 month anniversary of her taking out a 12 month contract. Once that bill arrives she will be contacting O2 retentions.0

check which month your last bill
Send O2 notice 25 days before that - so that you are certain to get your last bill
Don't upgrade until after your last bill and don't accept the first offer - as your leaving date gets nearer they will be keen to keep youTANSTAAFL !0 -
That advice is not foolproof.
Some networks alter your billing cycle on receipt of notice.
To be 100% sure, (unless you know what you are doing), await having the final bill you need to satisfy cashback conditions in your hand before upgrading.0 -
