True. Example, after blowing away all the froth of imaginary value, this seller has probably just reached a still crazy expectation of worth/value.

Welcome to the new world.
Of course it is worth what anyone will pay but I reckon thats still £200k overpriced.
It's a 3 bed bungalow on a very small piece of land it seems to me. Where £800k came from is baffling.0 -

I have no idea of the market there, but I can't imagine what gives it that 'worth'. I know that Cheshire has areas of very high property prices, but don't know Cheshire at all to understand where or why. It seems to be this must be an issue of 'location'?

In December 2003 I paid £82,500 for a 2-bed flat just outside Northampton Town Centre - it was pretty much the cheapest on the market. There are a string of 2-bed properties available for less than that now, with the cheapest advertised at £64,995, and not shifting.
just spotted (and correct insofar that rightmove flag up props under 80K in less des res locations such as southfields).
I'd be grateful if you could point me to a 2bed victorian terrace, modernised 2 miles from town centre in a 'good area' (and I'm not talking semilong) for less than £100k.
I only ask.0 -

That particular area isn't too far from me and is well frequented by premiership footballers, in fact Prestbury, which is just outside Macclesfield had the highest population of millionaires per sq. mile in the country at one time, not sure if it's still true.0 -

Depends how fussy you are! My place was at the top of Far Cotton, and I know it's not the best area, but it's not the worst either. Anyway, what you're asking me to prove isn't what I claimed, but here's a couple under 100k that are passable - again, not in Pitsford or Billing Village, but there are several worse areas than both.

Alternatively, the average selling price last month was 88.3% of asking, so to pay below £100k you would be looking at asking prices of around £112k, in which case you could consider a cheeky offer in Headlands or the nicer parts of Kingsthorpe.

This has been on the market for a year now - they keep dropping the price and no-one's buying. I'd be tempted to see how much they want to sell.
