How would you do that if you were in a really bad condition in hospital? Its the conditions that are really serious that are the expensive ones to have treatment on0
-
But you've just said I'm 'out of the woods' in terms of serious trouble... I thought that was the whole reason you said the EHIC ceases to be applicable?!0

The EHIC gives covers just A&E treatment in some countries eg they treat you in casualty and then the same night place you on a ward, at this point in some countries you start paying. How are you going to get back home with a drip etc attached and when your in a bad way.
Self Insure if you want but be aware the medical costs is some countries are astronomical0
