Can you cancel an orange contract after 4 days?

Just moved from O2 to orange as I got a good deal and was told I could get reception in my area - they did an online check.

The reception is poor at the best of times so I wondered if you have a cooling off period with orange where you can return the phone and accessories (unused) and cancel the contract?

Thanks

I just taken a new contract with Vodafone in store. And their policy is I can cancel the contract/change price plan/ or handset within the 14 days cooling period, after that you're stuck!!

Look at your contract carefully and see if there's any reference to 14 days return - i would have thought contracts taken from in stores would be 14 days and over the phone/internet 7 days??

    Or it varies??
  • There is no right to return anything bought in any store, unless it is faulty or not as described. Depends on individual retailers whether they will let you return it or not if you've just changed your mind, sounds like vodafone will, I don't think Orange do though.

You could try arguing that it is not as described as it doesn't work where they said it would, wouldn't hold out much hope though. Sorry.
Any opinions are my own and are offered as advice only and not fact.

Was on the phone to orange customer services earlier and they did a signal strength check of my postcode and said it was poor. They were disgusted that I was told it was very good signal strength instore and they said they'd have no problem in cancelling the contract but I'd have to go back to the store to do it. The nice lady told me to ring them when I'm instore if there are any issues when the manager is there.

She's marked on my account the tests we ran through and that the signal strength was non exsistant in my area

Fingers crossed that I can still get out of it

I'll let you know the outcome....
