I work for as a contractor for a small company and we do projects UK wide, wherever they take us really. I'm based in the south, but not London.

Sounds interesting, what sort of deals do you work on?

Sorry, I should say I was thanking the first part of your post not the second, as you'll appreciate I don't want to get caught up in the intra-recession board politics.[/QUOTE]

Noted. I'd prefer there to be no bickering - and I should not rise to the bait...

That's so true! Once you're married for long enough they get to be all 3, often in the same day!

Got the in-laws here this week so its a bit quiet really but Sunday I might go and have a look at a car as my car is falling apart. Can't narrow it down between a Golf GT and a BMW 1 series though. What do you think?

Give me five mins and I'll PM you. I don't like to go into much detail on a public forum.

Wookster the BMW 1 Series as got to be the most pointless badge car on the market.

As much as I know you hate me I think that car is a terrible mistake.

Has your dad seen any hearing consultants? My Dad is 80% deaf and when they come over here later this year I'm hoping to get him checked out and get a couple of hearing aids for him.

What roast are you doing? I've just got into roasts though still pretty amateur at them.

Got the in-laws here this week so its a bit quiet really but Sunday I might go and have a look at a car as my car is falling apart. Can't narrow it down between a Golf GT and a BMW 1 series though. What do you think?
He's been to University college and his ears are just worn out (little hairs apparently). The hearing aids help but higher pitch is a problem (female voices). He still lectures and, if a loop system in place, is OK. Also, still does court expert work.
He's 76 and very fit physically. Nearly went blind a few years back (which, in his profession, would have been awful) but had an op that replaced lenses.

Roast dinners....it's all in the timing. Meat on, par boil potoes + parsnips for roasting. Veg steamed at last minute.
I cheat on yorkshires and buy ready made as our derelict cottage cooker doesn't get hot enough.

Cars, I am rubbish at cars, but best car I ever owned was Celica, drove like a dream.....made driving 24 hrs p wk bearable at the time.

Worst car is current one, cruddy Landrover that OH bought for work in 02..worst car ever ever ever.

    Enjoy while it's kicking.
That's the bit I hate...I know what goes well stops at some point, so then don't enjoy the good times, as dreading the bad times that always follow.
