nokia 6021. The phone is not capable of web enable nor is it a camera phone.
the reason why I want 3g off is because i bought a duel sim standby phone from china, it works on 1g. my old orange (I mean old) sim works fine in the new phone but the voda does not and i know its 3g enabled
Hope this makes sense0 -
the nokia 6021 isnt 3g compatible so you are going to have a hard time turning it off.0

thanks gaming, if I put the sim in a 3g compatable phone how do i switch it off? are all phones different?
will the sim become a 1g sim?
Dont know much about all this g thing

All the menu's are different. There'll be a 'Phone settings' somewhere, just switch it to 'GSM' and it'll be off 3g0

1G was analogue mobiles/sims
2G was digital network/handset/sims
2.5G was digital with data sims
3G digital enhanced data sims
3.5G/3G+ high speed data upgrade - no sim replacement needed - signal/handset dependant
network settings in mobiles usually choice of network -
manual or auto
and GSM ( 2.5 G ) or WCDMA ( 3G/3G+ )SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

There really isn't such a thing as a "3G" sim on Vodafone, the sim card works on whichever technology the handset is capable of. There are no 1G handsets in working order anymore (the analogue networks were turned off years ago), if the phone is capable of only 2G (normal GSM) then that is what it will work on, if the phone is 3G the phone will use either a 2G or 3G signal and will move between the 2 as needed.
The only real reason to lock a 3G phone down to 2G is if you are trying to save battery, 2G seems to use less battery life than 3G.
All the cheap Chinese clone phones will work fine with a Vodafone sim, if they are only capable of 2G operation then that is what they will log onto.====0
