Travelling to London tomorrow and I have just realised all my money is Scottish Bank Notes, will I have any problems with this?
I have heard some places only accept English Notes.

Most banks will change them into English ones.0

I'd take them into a bank and get them swapped into English notes. Will save you any problems in shops that you go in.0

In many years of travelling to London on a weekly basis, I've only ever had my Scots note refused once....in a pub in Uxbridge. As I'd already consumed half of my pint, it was their loss:D
You should expect little problems. If you get any just tell them that Scots dosh is more valuable, so you will sell them £5 Scots for £6 DEB.0 -
I live in South East London and have family in Scotland and so have Scottish notes quite frequently. In the West End and touristy places you'd have no problems but some small businesses will refuse them. Taxi drivers are usually fine as they see them all the time. I usually have the odd problem here in South East London. Poundstretcher in Catford had to call in a manager one day when I was trying to get rid of a Scottish tenner... Mind you, one of the staff at Catford Bridge Station hadn't heard of Sunderland either when I tried to buy a ticket. Had to spell it. And that's not even north of the border!Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0

Know my local Post Office always keeps a quantity of English bank notes available for folks popping in to change, might be worth trying the PO also tomorrow.
I've had issues on a few occasions in England, last one was when I decided to take in a football match and only game available was at Dagenham & Redbridge, the catering van inside the ground (after calling in their Manager) wouldn't accept

It's ridiculous that you should have to change the notes at all. Scottish money is legal tender  . I'd love to see someone in Scotland refusing to accept an English note!:rotfl:0

You don't have to change them. Seriously, there are very few places where they'll be refused (though sometimes you do have to explain what they are first). I used to make sure I brought lots back to England with me specifically to confuse shop assistants but it's becoming less and less fun as most people now don't even blink when I hand them over. In any case I would refuse to buy anything out of principle if someone told me they weren't going to accept what I see as valid sterling currency.0 -
Funnily enough omlette451, I have a friend who lives in Wallasey (I see that's your location) and I almost always have problems with my Scottish notes there! You must look more honest than me...:rolleyes:0
