It is just me then, I find all that stopping a bit annoying.

Thanks for all the info about trains etc - the only thing with that really is that our baggage will be heavy and you don't have a lot of choice but lug it about yourself on a train (am I right in thinking that there's unlikely to be anything as old-fashioned as a porter these days?)

Shows how often you travel by train ;)

The train part of the journey will be absolutely fine. There are plenty of staff around at King's Cross, Leeds and Doncaster who will help you on/off the train (helping people lets them have an on-time departure so they do it lots), and if you're really concerned you can book assistance in advance with the train company so it's guaranteed for you. It's less likely to be that simple with the tube though, and only you know whether you can manage between the two of you. The Heathrow end will be fine (it's only just below ground and they're quite helpful) but King's Cross will be trickier. Does anyone know if there's a lift? As someone else suggested there's always the coach, which leaves right from the middle of Heathrow, but if it's really £76 as the previous post suggests it's going to be more expensive than the train, and obviously not as comfortable.

For me it's less annoying than going into Paddington and transferring to the tube or a bus to go over to Euston or King's Cross. With baggage. Especially given that the Express is so ridiculously expensive (and the Connect+tube option ends up taking just as much time as the tube-only one before you suggest that...).

I have to go out now, but will have a look and reply if necessary in the morning.

Once again, many thanks for taking the time to help :D

That's an expensive coach fare you are quoting there Blindman. The passengers are over 60 so the fare would be about £19 each. No changes, but the journey time (5 hrs 40 mins) is very slow.

You are right. just had a quick look on NE. Forgot they were over 60.

The point was they could get on a coach at LHR and get off at Leeds.
