oldernotwiser - maybe i worded it wrong but most regulars to this board will know the struggle we had last year getting her some funding, hence, the way i worded it......i was more shocked at people judgemental tones which is cropping up more and more on these boards just alately - us regulars remember how it was at the beginning when there werent all the nasty people coming on and when we actually supported people...
mumps - thanks hun......i looked into doing it online and have got it sorted...thanks
Many posters come on here and say they were unaware of the terms of the loans and/or tenancy agreements they have signed. Often the arugment is, 'I was only 18'.
I suppose I, and others, wonder if your dd will say the same at some point...
There is still a lot of support in these boards imo.0 -

Sorry that you think me a "nasty person" and that I don't, personally, remember every individual situation from more than a year ago! I expect that makes me an "irregular" poster!0 -
All your daughters paperwork will be addressed to her, it is not (despite its initial appearance) a lengthy form, most of the sections she will more than likely find do not apply to her, so it is not a hard form to fill in.
Your forms will be addressed to you and of course are your business. Of course you can fill it all in on-line, but even then you will both have your own passwords.
Please don't be offended by what is written above, it is good advice though, your daughter is an adult and time or not she really should fill the forms in for herself, by all means help her, but it really is her loan, her debt, her responsibility and her future.2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0 -
oooooooooh dont think ill bother asking next time...theres some nasty witty (not) people cropping up on this site nowadays...
stop judging - how do you know she hasnt seen what shes entitled to firefox????????
she perfectly understands a lot more than some people about finance and the like and is much more mature than others...im helping her out ok? its something some parents do for their kids.....i never said i would be doing it without her or her understanding
I am sorry you think we are simply judging. Some of us speak from bitter experience - what many caring parents see as helping often manifests as relieving the offspring of adult responsibility. There have been far too many examples on this board of students who have not understood the implications of their student loan/ student overdraft/ first credit card. Some of these are immature, others simply inexperienced.
I do not want your daughter to make her first financial mistakes with an unforgiving credit card company, I'd rather she made them applying for student finance with you there to proof read her efforts. At 18 she is no longer the kid you refer to, tho I understand she will always be your baby. :ADeclutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
