Don't forget, she's going to be borrowing thousands to do her degree and she needs to understand what she's doing and the implications of it.

I am in second year and currently owe £10,500...

i do her applying for her cos she asks me to as she really is hopeless at written work, etc.....and never has the time to sit and do it anyway...but, i do it with her permission and i go through it with her before i send it, etc....

    thanks all

This is a loan of thousands and thousands of pounds we are talking about - grown-up, real life, not monopoly money. If your daughter can't find the time to complete such an important form between now and June, she is going to have a very nasty shock indeed when she gets into her third year and has to go to a real university.

Bradford College and the Bank of Mum and Dad are a little bubble, one day your daughter will have to pay her own bills; debt collectors don't care that written work isn't your forte or that you had a lot on this week. Neither do employers - are you going to fill in all her job applications? Your daughter hasn't even had the courtesy to find out what she is entitled to and where/ how to apply!

You can do it all on line, all three of you (you, your daughter and your hubsand) will have to register and fill in forms. If your husband is disabled and on benefits and you are his carer there is a form you need to get filled in about his benefits (if you take it to the job centre they send it off and get it all done for you) If you are on benefits she will probably get a full grant and a bursary so maybe not such a big loan. Good luck

You can't be surprised at people's comments if you look back at what you've posted and why should anyone think that she understands all the financial implications when you said "will she actually be entitled to anything this year?"

If you don't know anything about the student loan system one would expect your daughter didn't either, or you would, presumably, have asked her about it!

oldernotwiser - maybe i worded it wrong but most regulars to this board will know the struggle we had last year getting her some funding, hence, the way i worded it......i was more shocked at people judgemental tones which is cropping up more and more on these boards just alately - us regulars remember how it was at the beginning when there werent all the nasty people coming on and when we actually supported people...

mumps - thanks hun......i looked into doing it online and have got it sorted...thanks
