No wonder you receive such good service!!
  • Yes I agree that Pathways is a waste of money. However, I work on the scheme and don't appreciate being called a !!!!!!. I am just trying to earn a living like everyone else. I try to help those people who require the help. For those that don't I make the process as painless as possible. Your comments are not helpful!

    Uncertain,
I am glad you have a job to go back to and that you have to run the gauntlet of the red tape procedures...I would suggest discontinueing claim if you don't need the money, or just smile and go with the flow...feeling bad will only give you high blood pressure.

Personally, If I get better, I have no job to go back too, and look forward to the advice and extra help given by the pathways to work staff.
And afterall, it's only once a month for meetings and they are only a fone call away if I need assistence.
On the whole, a very good program imo.

So, the next time you get a letter, Smile serenly and think how lucky you are not to need them or their money.

  • To call people who implement the legislation '!!!!!!' is just proving yourself to be an ignorant person with no imagination.

They do not make the rules. Only implement them.

If you have a complaint about the legislation itself, write to Gordon Brown.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Oh I will, don't worry. My concern was that the staff time could be put to so much better use than having meetings with me (or the second poster's husband).

Having said that, I have paid a lot of tax and NI over the last 30+ years. I see no reason why I should not have my due.

In my case three doctors all take the view that I am not well enough to work at the moment. I have written evidence that (currently at least) my job is open for me. Should that not be enough for a fixed rate claim that is not means tested?

To the people who work for the DWP implementing the System, why don't you do something to change it ?

You MUST know there are fundamental things wrong with the System.

It's no good saying it's the System & it's just the claimant's problem.

You are complicit in implementing the System, you are part of the problem.
  • The whole point is that the pathways system is designed to see what work you are capable of.....
