Should I hold out

November just gone I could of upgraded my wifes phone (Orange) as she has been with them 2 years (we did upgrade after the first year BTW)

She is on Monthly billing, it is the talktime 120 plan and costs me 25.68 + VAT

I called Orange last week, after having a look at the spiel that Martin suggests, and told them I wanted the same plan for 1/2 price (this option is open to new customers) and to have the phone upgraded. I was told that we could have one or the other but not both.

So, my question is should I try again and ask for both ?

If they say no should I take the 1.2 price rental and then try for an upgrade (I do not think this will work)

Or should I try for an upgrade and then ask for 1/2 price line (do not think they will go for this as once the phone is upgraded they will have us locked for a year so I have no bargaining point.

Any insights/suggestions gratefully received.

If you say it's for new customers then simply cancel the existing contract and start again.

If you want to keep the number then you will have to port it to another network first, and then port it back to Orange.
