My budget is prob really half what they want for them - so I'm being wildly optimistic... it's cash though - but still too little for me to go and make a viewing.
Compared to other houses they're probably a bit bigger than anything else I've looked at (Have got square meter totals for some places we've viewed though - so could in theory compare if I can find them)
It's just at what point they get desperate enough to sell them... whether they are in a strong position and can hold onto empty houses... (whats the guarantee on a new build? 10 yrs?)

It SOUNDS optimistic (which is why I am holding off viewing the new build houses that look nice near us... I think that if I truthfully told the sales agent, she might either have a heart attack or batter me to death with the nearest blunt object... :D )

BUT these are odd times and it really depends on the size and the desperation of the developer. The thing that they most risk, if they did sell to either of us at 50% of the original asking price, is that it would highly devalue the asking prices for the remaining plots... (as soon as it hits the land register... so a few months). But that may be a risk that they are desperate enough to take... Difficult to say...

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Just work on your acting skills AND try not to loose your heart.... You never know, sometimes viewings can put you off properties: you look around, realise it isn't all that it is cracked up to be and then it frees you to dream about other properties...

I'm fairly certain I won't lose my heart to them if I view - (That's gone to a period property thats sadly sstc now) - but from a practical point of view a new build is well all shiny and new...

    EDIT:

Is offering a 'silly' price for a house the same as asking out the hottest girl in the class? - most people don't do it cos they don't think they have a chance. You can but try!

I do think they're very close together - have a rubbish garden because it's on busy road and have no rear garden. And a private road for access at the back which I assume will not be adopted and therefore any repairs in the future.
The houses do look a nice size though.
  • Went to see a new build last week - they wouldn't knock anything off the price so ended up having to walk away.
