How is it done. Just go to the bank and cancel the D/D, or do we have to contact the insurance company direct?

You will have to tell the company you want to cancel it.0

When I last had free insurance I didn`t sign anything especially DD. I forgot although about it although it was included in the package. I assumed it was a policy that the phone provider provided that service through a third party that I didn`t have any contract with and therefore didn`t need to contact to prevent them taking any money from me/ continuing with the contract.0

Well, that may be wrong, depending on how and where you applied. Perhaps you should check whether you are being charged.vertical_fool wrote:When I last had free insurance I didn`t sign anything especially DD. If the application was a cashback deal by phone or internet, the details taken when you applied would probably have been passed on to the insurers. And the paperwork received with the phone would include it.
I'm about to cancel mine early, as the £25 excess is higher than the value of the phone, and calls are not covered. "The maximum liability for any claim cannot exceed the replacement value of the phone."That is why we give you the first 3 months of the insurance totally free of charge. You need take no action to receive this valuable benefit; however, in order to qualify for this offer, you have agreed that we send your personal and bank details to the Insurance Administrators, to enable us to arrange ....
It says you can cancel the direct debit at any time, but I reckon I'll call the dealer and also ask for the insurer's phone number0
