Facebook - I just don't get it...

I'm on facebook but I just can't find a practical use for it.
I did track down some old college mates but that's about the height of it.

I do find it rather pointless. Anybody else similiarly minded?

And don't even mention the even more inane twitter.

I have a Facebook account, but I wish I didn't. People keep on messaging me and expecting me to reply.
  • Waste of time. Pointless, with no interest whatsoever.
    You are 48% tight

  • I like Facebook, helps me keep in touch with people.

Twitter on the other hand is the most pointless website in the world

A bit like this thread and the original OP post.

Why on earth post this in a techie forum, that you don't get the point of Facebook?

I don't get the point of hundreds of things - but most of all inane posts drive me round the bend.

If you don't like Facebook, or don't have a use for it, don't use it, just like the millions of other things, sites and items in life that people choose or not choose to use.

I'm sure you'll find millions or people with the same view and millions with a different view.

    /here endith my rant!

I joined bebo then facebook, facebook had more of my old mates on it. They just pointed out that I dont actually have that many friends. I dont really get it its good for keeping in touch but thats about it.

I did get addicted to connect four for a while. I dont see why people would be interested in posting !!!! about themselves and why others would be interested.

Ive found a load of old friends on mine. I dont mind it at all. Set privacy settings so only FRIENDS can see your account if random people keep bothering you

  • I think a lot of people don't 'get' facebook because they haven't utilised all the many extras attached to it.

Have you checked out the anagram games and scrabble for example? have you tagged pictures? do you click on home to see what your friends are up to so you can comment?
