Any ideas on how to make a device to pump oil out from the dipstick hole on a car that has no sump plug?

Why doesn't it have a sump plug?
You can suck it out via the filler cap, it's done that way in the US irc.0 -

Could you just syphon it out with a length of tube? clear helps so you dont get a mouth full of oil!
I know smarts dont have sump plugs.0 -
This will be just the job @ £6.84 from Screwfix:

you will need to stop and emty that a few times it doesnt hold much.
ive got a sealey fluid extractor, holds over 5 litres, has 3 different sizes of hose that fit down the dipstick hole and work very well.
i dont see how it could be emptied via the filler hole on modern cars? maybe much older ones that would fill right into the sump, but not new cars....work permit granted!0 -
I've got one of those Screwfix suction guns for emptying the oil out of the swivel housings on my Land Rover, it works very well. It would take a long time to empty a sump though and it would need a much longer tube.
Out of interest what sort of car is it that doesn't have a sump plug? It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

It holds half a litre, but I'm not sure how much oil is in an average sump.0 -
There is the risk that not using a sump plug and using such a device as this will result in the oil not being completely drained. Most utilise the dipstick tube, not the filler, as gs's post, not really 100% satisfactory in my opinion. If there isn't a drain plug fitted then not much choice though!
For between approx. 3 and 5 litres of oil typically then I suspect it would take ages using this type of device and the oil would need to be REALLY hot to flow properly - so don't syphon, I wouldn't want a mouthful of used engine oil anyway? (carcinogens)0 -
I'm more fascinated on what vehicle you don't have a sump plug in? Or is it damaged?0
