  • I am planning to move a file using combofix which will/should sort out the movement issue. Fingers crossed.

    Just out of curiosity, why do you think it needs to be moved using combofix and I can't do a straight copy and paste?
    It's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission ;)
  • Using Combofix will - removes file attributes (read-only, hidden, system, archive)

    Ok I have not done this before myself so this is at your own risk.

    We need to copy a file and transfer it. THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

    YOU MAY WISH TO INSTALL THE RECOVERY CONSOLE AS AN EXTRA SAFETY MEASURE

    1. Close any open browsers.

    2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

    3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
    FCopy::
    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386\userinit.exe | c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe
    Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe

    CFScriptB-4.gif

    Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

    When finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt which I will require in your next reply.
  • OK, here is the Combofix.txt

  • Run SDFIX again - lets see what that log shows us.
  • I hope SDFIX comes back clean - sadly I have to go out and probably won't be able to check the computer until morning.
