I'm in the sae position but I sent my letter direct to Capital One. I have had a reply from them to say they will send the statements once they receive my cheque or postal order which I didn't enclose on the off chance they'd sent them free.0 -

Seperately tell the DCA the account is in dispute with the original creditor.
But my problem isn't really about sending the letters. It's the original Capital One account number which i need to put on the letter asking for my statements.
Without that number i'm screwed. As i said the only info i have regarding that account is a Reference number with the DCA.
How do i find out the account number from that old account?LBM -

Ask Capital One
give them all your address and name details they should be able to find your account in their systems. when they pass you to a DCA they usually set up a new account number for the defaulted account so they should be able to find that and the original account number. If they wont on the phone then enter a full subject access request under the data protection act,
