Amazon CS not so great! (First time for me!) (No refund now!)

So i got an email from Amazon today, After i did not get an order worth £100. I mistakenly chose Normal first class. I did not get the order. So i emailed them they didn't reply, Until i send my final response which was:

Dear sir/Madam,
I am real upset with the services standard i have been given by amazon.

I have not got an order, i have also emailed you over 3 times. And still am awaiting a reply.

The order number for this order is: 202-2084562-5839503

Would you please process a refund for this order, As this beyond a joke, I have waited 3 weeks.

Please reply As soon as you can.

and i got the most horrible email:

Dear Sohail,

We have refunded the order 202-2084562-5839503 £108.49. This amount will appear on your payment card statement between 2-5 working days.

Please note Your Amazon account is closed and you are no longer able to shop with Amazon.co.uk.

I just dont get the " We appreciate your cooperation in refraining from using our web site." Now this is my first refund on my new address. So i don't get the attitude.

My Debit card was used on amazon for £97.97 for an order i didnt place. I told Natwest who told me to ask amazon for a refund. As it was fraud and they said amazon was always helpful. So i had to request a refund for that earlier on. And they processed that. It's not my fault if someone used my Debit card and went shopping on amazon. Mind you i hardly have more than £100 in my natwest account. It is all in my halifax account. So i am just a bit !!!!ed off with the service.

I dont mind, I can just shop and play :T

It looks like the credit crunch is getting to amazon.

Which is the truth? Did you place the order, or was your card used fraudulently?

  • I think OP had their card used fraudulently, so asked for a refund.

Then he ordered £100 worth of stuff and didn't get it so asked for a refund.

Amazon think that OP is pulling a fast one.

Did the order that was fraudulant show your address as the delivery or a different one?

I dont understand the relevance of normal post, free delivery is usually sent by the same courier anyway just takes a little longer.

If the fraudulant delivery shows your delivery address followed by another large order that was not delivered, Amazon may believe that 2 claims of none delivery is high and its safer for them to not despatch any more items out.

    Guess what?

I got an email from Them on the 27th saying the refund was processed, and still have not got it in my account! How long does it take for a refund?

I have never had any trouble with Amazon. They have always exceeded my expectations and deliveries have been either on time or the earlier than expected. I have never requested any refunds. I shop carefully and choose wisely. There have been other threads about Amazon accounts being closed. This seems to be a pattern.

I too have never had any problems with Amazon and in fact have posted several times on the old 'Heaven Sent' board about how quick their free delivery service has been.

To be fair, I've never had to return anything so haven't any experience of their customer service.

There is a lot of talk on the web at the moment about Amazon customer services. I think there is an MSE thread about it somewhere. Basically, if you return what they consider too many items to them for refunds (for whatever reason), they may close your account and refuse your orders in future.

I have always found them okay, but I have only ever returned one item in many years of shopping with them - and that was their fault. I assume their tougher stance is due to excess fraud, credit cruch biting and trying to cut down on the cost of postage on returning goods.

It does seem to be punishing genuine customers though if comments I have read are accurate.
