spirit....i too was in your position. I was buying this house following a divorce with 3 children i was supporting alone.
THEN..i fell in love, married, my husband moved in, i put him on the mortgage 50/50. You have to have faith and trust and love.
Also, if everything goes terribly wrong, it's only money.0 -
At first, I moved in with OH who owned his house (mortgaged).
Then we bought a house together on a joint mortgage and he was kind enough to put the equity from the sale of his house into the purchase of the new one.
At the first house I contributed towards major decisions but he had the final say. It didn't cause any tension.0 -
i lived in my ex's house, then his dads, then our house, then he threw me out so i moved back into my parents, now i live in my landlords flat untill May 13th when i will be moving back into my parents for 2 months then i will move into my house/flat or whatever i can afford!
I had another more recent ex move into my flat and i hated it, he automatically acted like it was "our" flat but it wasnt it was mine! so i kicked him out

I have a mortgaged house and OH lives with me. He doesnt contribute to the mortgage as I dont want him to pay towards something that's not his. He didn't earn a lot when I first met him and now he is out of work. Looking at moving again within the next year and I will buying it in my sole name again. I do get embarrassed when my friends ask if we will buy together, however I earn nearly 2.5 times what he did in his last job. However I have been burnt before where I bought a flat 50/50 with my ex and when we split up we had to sell and I had to move back in with my mom. So I guess this gives me security should anything happen in the future.0
