BT tags help

Hi all, hopefully someone here can help.
Recently moved into a rented apartment and decided i wanted broadband. Now there was already a line in so i phoned BT. told them ive moved in and they switched the line over to me, the lady on the phone did say that the person in before has not told them they have left and must have been continuing payments. Anyway the line is moved over to me now so i phoned the ISP of choice and they say either a mac is needed or there is a tag on the line, can you phone BT?!. So ive now phoned BT 6 times today. Been given 4 different numbers which 3 dont work. Any help out there?????

Thats a different number again.
Anyways the story has moved on now. Was advised to phone ofcom. They took a ref number out and gave me a number for BT ofcom dept. Its not a complaint but once i had the ofcom number the wheels finally start moving.
She went straight through to tags team and will give me a response within 5 working hours. so we'll see.0 -
Having this problem myself right now - anybody had any joy - should I go direct to Ofcom? The new ISP I wanted didn't seem to have a clue what to do.0
