Depends what you are paying for! 2MB = good, 20MB = bad.

Today I`m getting 6200kbps and 834kbps,which is slightly less than usual and my ISP is "up to 8 megs download speed"

Most of the country can`t even get 2megs:

This is on the O2 "up to 20 meg service".

I am quite happy with it.

"It's supposed to be up to 8 meg" meg = Mbps

Those are great results if you are on a 56kbs dial up modem.

However...never trust one single bandwidth checker...best use several for a rounded view...like:-

    http://www.speedtest.net/

    http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html

    http://www.speed.io/index_en.html

these are the favourites with the guys over at DSLzoneuk :) I use these as they seem to be the most accurate and consistent....

Those are VERY good speeds for 8meg
My dad pays for Skys 16 meg and only gets just under 8 (Though it is completely unlimited and hes never been throttled and had no problems, so im certainly NOT knocking skys service)
