iphone contract
Hi, done a few searches and couldn't find anything like this, might of not been using very good keywords, anyway.
I'm thinking of buying an iphone on pay as you go at the end of next month as i cant renegotiate. i have a contract with o2 for a phone at present that ends in april
I've been with o2 for over 3 years, and got a contract for £20pm that was originally £35. So any ideas how cheap i can push them for an iphone tariff? I'd ideally like 500 texts and 200 minutes plus unlimited data. As i said i will be buying the iphone so its purely a sim only contract i'm after, unless its better value another way?
Thanks guys!

You wouldn't be allowed to buy an iphone and use your current contract, they can't change the contract you are on to the iphone contract unfortunantly.. The unlimited web bolt on that you could add may not be fully functional with the phone and it's not recommended to do it this way. Visual Voicemail will also not be available..
The iPhone does come with it's own tariffs which the user should be on. You wouldn't be able to upgrade early to go on the iPhone0 -
They've tied the iPhone functions to the iPhone tariff. There's no way round it if you want to use all the features of the phone. . .0

thats mega lame my contract is up in a couple of months, got a meeting now it says renewal date is 23rd april
also is unlocking an option? and threatening to go to a different network, bear in mind it will be sim only.0 -
Won't get you very far. Apple won't let it be offered at a discount and it's selling so well O2 don't need to discounted it either.
If you put it unlocked on an other network you still won't get all the functions as no other network has them so doesn't have the backend for them to work.
If you want one and all the functions it has to be O2 and it has to be at the price that O2 set.... (a monopoly in action !)....0 -
As said, they won't offer any sort of discount on the iphone or iphone tariff.. :cool:0

I purchased a iphone on PAYG , and then use a o2 sim only deal ( with data bolt on)
works great
works out cheaper than contract for me.
Ok no visual voicemail... whatever that is.
No cloud wifi ( but I have wifi at home, and 3G on the data package when out) - in fact I do have cloud wifi on the other sim taht came with phone ...Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
yea im just talking about the contract thats sim only. no iphone included. surely they will offer a discounted rate for just having the contract0
