I am now at the wonderful figure of saving 80 thousand pounds because i did not buy when i was going to having done some research....maybe i will get to 100k and then the two year wait would of been worth a lot more if i include interest payment but i have not included them because its a cash buy.
It would of been more painful if i had paid cash and seen me lose the 80k hard cash that could of been sat in my account not in someone elses pocket not having been earned...

    What you on geoff?

How's the canaries investment doing? Or is that lies too?

Confused, Really2, and Chucky are eating their words haha.

i knew i was right about not buying.

    Buying what?
Surely you don't think confused, really2 and chucky bought a house recently without doing proper research and nailing a deal that priced in drops? If they did i'd be very surprised. Who did you used to be by the way? Graham Devon has touched on realism, let us get real and let us hear some confessions...Come on pandamonia and wookster, let us take the socks off.

It's amazing how house prices just keep getting cheaper all the time. It's fantastic news for hard-working families who want a place of their own. And for future generations too.

Think that is a fair point and i for one wouldn't begrudge a good hard working family a place they could call theirs.

i've banged on about this for ages and have been called a bull and a few other choice names in there too.

I don't think it's a bad time to buy if you buy well.

My particular case is property purchased in August 2008 - purchase price £380k for cash, at peak it would have been valued at £475k. It's for a BTL so can't remotgage for 6 months - i've just re-mortgaged and the valuation came back at £440k.

Would it sell for £440k? Definitely not as nothing is really selling unless they vendor is desperate. It's also paper money as this isn't materialised until you sell anyway.

Hey chuckyness, you being talked about on possibly your fav forum :D

If you were fed up you'd stop following and posting.

It's simple. I'm not fed up, I'm finding this all quite amusing.

Oh, I'd also like to thank you if I may. You reminded me to up my direct debit to charity this month :)

You, Sir, have done a good deed today.
