BT excess usage charge - 101.36

BT getting heavy handed with big users, and offered for me to pay 131.36 for December usage, or not pay and choose to cease service - they will provide migration reference code, hmmm, what shall I do, as BT are about the most expensive provider anyway!!! - I pay 24.99 a month i think

any suggestions as to who to move to for uncapped 2mb service at good price?

  • The only uncapped and unrestricted 2MB line ISP's around now are AOL Gold for £24.99 monthly or Zen for £29.78 + activation charge. Its a shrinking marketplace.

Alternatively Nildram do an up to 8MB line 50gb/month service for £25.99 p/m.

Zen and Nildram have excellent records for reliability and customer service.
Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.
  • If you're in their coverage area, Homechoice have uncapped 8MB for £30 / month.

But you get the first 2 months at £20 / month and they give you an extra £15 off your first bill and you get £70 back with quidco.

So the first year should work out to £21.25 / month.

The installation is free and it comes with a TV box that gives you most of the freeview channels and 7 days of replays of BBC channel programmes.

    Good value IMO.
  • Zen Internet give free migration. BT wanted £192 off me, they gave me MAC and following day I placed order with Zen, 5 days later I was with Zen. No pain, no limits, exact same price as BT Yahoo.

You've got to admit its a very effective way of suggesting to heavy users that now is the time to find another ISP.

Zen now have caps for all new members. 20 gig on their Active plan and 50 gig on their Pro plan.
  • Telewest are doing a 2mb uncapped for 17.99 a month now I think.
