Hi everyone  I'm back!!! I've just been reading through my diary from the posts I made last year and wonder why I stopped coming on here?? I was making great progress then I got lost and I'm now in an even bigger mess than I was before
I'm still working (full time now) in the horrible call centre. I left college just after Christmas last year, as I was taking too many days off doing stupid things like going shopping or going to the pubI'd really like to go back after next summer as I still would like to go to uni and do social work. I'm starting to look for a new job now which is more related to social work. I've stayed at my current job so long because I thought the money was really good however I got more debt now than ever before. I'm going to repost my SOA as somethings have changed and also work out my total debt so I can update my signature.

I've just calculated my total debt and it comes to ALOT more than I thought...£29,681.35. How did I get into this mess. I feel disgusted with myself. I have nothing to show for all this debt I have. I want to move on with my life but this is holding me back so much. Everyone I went to school with are either going travelling, buying their own houses, starting their own businesses, having families etc and I haven't moved on at all and feel I can't as I have all this hanging over my head. I haven't done anything with my life at all apart from getting myself into a big fat mess
:(:( I know I shouldn't be comparing myself to everyone else but I just feel so crap about myself. I know I need to pull myself together but I don't even know where to begin

I know I'm not going to get anywhere sitting around feeling sorry for myself so here is the plan for today (I'm not working today so got plenty of time to sort things out):
- Check online banking
- Surveys
- Scratchcards
- Write new CV
- Look for new jobs
- Post SOA
- See what I have in for Christmas presents & what else I need
- Cancel loan insurance
- Close debenhams account (£0 balance I hope)
- Send things back to Asos that I bought last week
- Transfer money out of my savings accounts and close them down
- Volunteering* tonight - MUST stick to budget
- Fill out volunteering expenses as soon as I get back to keep up to date
- Spending diary
I've got lots to do so I'd better stop feeling sorry for myself and get on with them!!

Nice to see you back! Everyone has a blip here and there, so it's great that you are back on track with a vengeance!
Sounds like you have plenty of things on that not only help other people, but keep you busy and not thinking about spending.
Lovely to hear your news and keep posting!
Best of luck!Overpay!0 -
Aww thanks poorbutrich, glad to hear others have blips too I thought it was just me (that's how it feels anyway!)
I know I've not been on for a few days but I'm working away quietly behind the scenes!! Both loan payments came off yesterday so that's £457 towards the debt paid! I love updating my signature so much that I'm going to join the payment a day thread as every little penny counts. I'm off work for a few days so hope to get lots of things sorted & make good use of my time for once!!

£20 to new savings account

Cancelled my loan insurance and closed my Debenams account. The guy at Debenhams didn't convince me that he had closed it though, may have to follow this up with a letter.

Opened a new savings account with the Post Office as I can't overpay on either of the loans I have so I'm going to make regular payments into the savings account and when the credit card 0% finishes hopefully I'll have enough in the savings account to pay it off (I'll still have a weekly standing order going to the c/c to make sure I meet the repayments). Then I would like to continue to save and hopefully be in a position one day to repay the loans early. So far in the savings account I have £249.51!! so off to a good start!

I've borrowed this idea from a post that I saw a while ago. I'm only going to do it until July next year as this is my 0% interest free perios finishes on my credit card. Hopefully I'll have a job by then and know what is going to happen with college etc so my income will probably have changed. I have put down £750 debt repayments/savings a month which considering I only earn about £1,000 I think is quite a bit so I'll need to really look at other ways to up my income!!How Am I Doing???Date.......Debt........Savings.......Total........Goal......Acheived??.....Difference......Paid this monthDec...£29,210.49......£249.51.....£28,960.98
Jan.........................................................£28,200
Feb........................................................£27,450
Mar........................................................£26,700
Apr........................................................£25,950
May.......................................................£25,200
June......................................................£24,450
July.......................................................£23,7000 -
hi again, started reading from the top of the page and took ages to twig that it was from last year! guess the snow's also slowing down my brain.
glad to see you back again. I certainly had a blippy year the first year i was on here. I'm sure you'll be fine this time.
i'm also at the saving to pay off loans stage. feels very different but still rewarding.0
