  • Managed a NSD today so really pleased about that. Took my brother shopping and he gave me £5 petrol money which was a nice suprise so paid that straight into my overdraft account! Slowly but surely it's coming down, at the moment it's at £2,420.79 overdrawn which I am determined to get rid of as soon as possible then I can concentrate on my loan.

Finally managed to get the rest of the things on Ebay tonight, one of which sold straight away so need to go to post office tomorrow morning before I start work. As it's not going to be a NSD I might as well get the food in for next weeks lunches/dinners tomorrow. I'm going to try and get up early though and write a shopping list and stick to it. I think I've done really well this week and really really don't want to mess up but I'm determined to do it this time so fingers crossed!!

    Night night

  • Can't believe how early I am up on a saturday morning!! I've done my surveys (5p) and scratchcard (10p), checked my online banking (£34.64 refunds have gone back into my account from Wednesday, so transferred that straight to the overdraft), checked Ebay, got 27 items on there now 5 which will sell still at least 6 days left on all of them!

Off now to plan my meals and write a shopping list!

    Have a nice day

  • That's the meal planning and shopping list done. Also sold another 2 items on Ebay this morning at buy it now so theyre all packaged up and ready to be taken to the post office. Also made some pasta to take to work for lunch and emptied all the change out my purse so I won't be tempted to spend any money in the vending machines!!

Evil vending machines taking money off you, I have to do the same, just take the correct amount of money to the shops so I dont buy any crisps

Congratulations on getting into college :T, will you be sticking your student loan  in an account that pays more interest than the re-payment rate, then you can use this towards your debt

i looked on the bedroom floor but didn't find a fiver so i think it must just be your floor they turn up on. :(

sounds like you're doing really well on ebay. I may have sold my complete set of DMC threads yesterday and some fabric, just awaiting an email to discuss terms, but it will be good to get something from them if at all possible.
  • Morning :hello:

Hi Radish - I haven't really thought about what I'm going to do with the student loan money. My overdrafts going to be interest free when I change it over to a student account so I probably should pay the loan money into a savings account but I don't really trust myself. Although I do have a Halifax regular saver account which can only be closed down in a branch and I'm far too lazy to do that so maybe I'll stick the money in there as I know I won't touch it.

Hi Lemon Tree - Maybe it's a good thing you never found any money. I once found £5 in the street and thought I was really luck then 2 days later I lost £50!!! I was on holiday in Blackpool and I can remember being so upset!! Fingers crossed with the Ebay sales!!

Went shopping yesterday and spent £29 on food and £10 on toiletries. Not good. I'm going to make lots of meals though so I think it should last longer than one week so hopefully it'll work out over the month. I'm going out for dinner tonight as it was my mum and dads anniversary yesterday and we didn't know what to get them so we decided just to ask what they would like and they said for us to spend time together as a family!! So we're all going out tonight. I'm really looking forward to it as I love eating out and I won't feel guilty as the money I'm spending would have been money spent on getting them a pressie anyway. Working today so I've made lunch to take with me. I'm not going to take my purse again so I won't be tempted to spend.

I've had a look at the "£1000 in 100 days" challenge and I've decided to do something similar myself. As it is 121 days (I think) until 31st December I'm going to try and make an extra £1250 before then. This includes everything apart from basic wages and student loan (if I get one!). I will calculate the money when I make it rather than when it is received. So today I made 30p on scratchcards and an item sold on Ebay for £9.51 so I'm on the way to making my £1250! Can't wait!!!

    Have a nice day everyone!!

  • Managed to only spend £25 last night :jwhich includes going to the pub afterwards. I was really really hungover so hardly done anything at all so today was another NSD!!

Sold 2 more items on Ebay today (£6.98) and got 10p in scratchcards so that's been added to my £1250 challenge.

Found out that my Halifa regular saver account is only getting me 0.1% instead of the 5% I thought so I think I'm going to close it down and open another so I do get the 5%.

Nothing else to report today so I'm off to bed!!

  • Just won £1 on the scrathcard so that brings my balance to £10.85!! Withdrawn £10 now so hopefully get that in my account in the next few days!!

Starting college today and feeling a bit nervous. I really want to try so hard this year as I want to get a good job when I finish next year. I was aiming for a NSD but need to post 3 ebay items but other than that hopefully I won't need to spend anything else!

    Have a nice day everyone

  • Well 1st day of college was not too bad, thank goodness! Got my reading list, just checked Amazon to see roughly how much they were..most of them were at least £20!! I'm going to go to the local library on Friday and see what I can get from there and if they're worth buying or not.

Managed not to spend any money today other than ebay postage (£4.69) and prescription (£4). Just sold another item on Ebay (£5.99) and I have another 7 finishing tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Off now to make lunch for tomorrow!!

  • I'm so annoyed with myself!! I made a bit of a mistake when I was doing my budget this month so to rectify I have taken the money from my everyday budget which now means I have £45 in my everyday account (£65 including food). I know this sounds like a lot and I know I can manage perfectly well on this but I'm scared as it feels a little like going cold turkey and I'm afraid I'll mess up!

On a more positive note, I sold £36.11 worth of things on ebay today and also made 10p on scratchcard and 10p on onepoll. Arranged some overtime at work for the next few days so I'll be able to add even more to my £1250 challenge. Tried to check my Natwest savings account today to see if my £50 bonus has gone it but I have somehow managed to lock myself out of the online banking so I'll need to sort this over the weekend!! Off now to make packed lunch for college tomorrow, was hoping for a NSD but will need to post my ebay items.

    xx
