Can anyone give me alternative contact details for specsdot.com

I bought a pair of glasses from them and am having some issues withthem, but they are no longer responding to my emails? There is a phone number on the site, but it just goes through to a fax machine - I have even sent a fax without any luck.

The details I have which I am getting no response from are:
Specsdot.com,
Calabria House,
19 Courtenay Park
Newton Abbot
Devon
TQ12 2HB

E: customerservice@specsdot.com
T: 01626 351294

Thanks for your help.

    Hi There,
I actually live in Newton Abbot! I went to the address listed today, there was only a workman there, I asked him about Specsdot.com and whether they were still operating, he replied that yes they were, but were working from a shop in the town:confused: I will try on Monday to visit this shop and find out what is going on.
I did join the website, it is all a bit confusing:cool: as the address listed on the return email was a PO address in MARGATE!! The mystery deepens

This is the address to the website that I was referred to after signing up for the news letter from specdot.com. Hope it helps.

    Is this the website?

If so there's a phone number on it, but still with the old address mentioned above.

Whois gives us a different name and address... in Paignton.
  • I'm thinking the old adage if its to good to be true then it normally is applies in this case.

was almost about to push the buy button and a little bell went off so tried calling, email, address look-up and forum searches and now glad i didn't.

oh well back to trawling to find a deal on new specs :(
    yada yada yada!!
  • I used them in Feb 2011. Seemed to be OK. I ordered a pair of Oakleys online via their site. Had 1 email telling me it would be 5-7 (working) days, arrived on day 10 all told (inc weekends)
They were genuine frames, to the correct prescription, no hassles.

Well priced at £169 delivered for prescription Oakleys. Can't see a better deal elsewhere

Just my experience, but this seems to be one deal that I couldn't resist, and it worked.

you joined the forum to contribute to a thread that is over a month old.....why....and how did you find the thread?

  • To answer why I left a message on the day of registering to a forum thread that was a month old, and how/why I found the thread ?

Of course we all like a bargain, and I websearched for cheap glasses. specsdot.com was one of the searches, and were very competitive. Again, of course I'm going to look for feedback before I order online to a website for a 1st order to an unknow to me website. They didn't have a feedback section of their own.

This forum came up and I read it. Some good, some negative feedback, some confused commenst about the site and its communications and location etc.........

I read these, weighed up the options, the discount etc.....and still sent an order. Considering the last comment before mine, and the to good to be true comment, I felt it only right, having read this forum to look for feedback, that I ought to leave a message explaining what my experience was like. After all, this is a forum signed up to by people who are looking for moneysaving tips. Isn't it ?

So, I am unconnected to specsdot.com, I used this froum to form an opion of the feedback, and then still bought from them (some very good, and low cost designer glasses). Thats all, nothing sinister. Just sharing an experience on a forum. It shouldn't initiate an inquisistion, should it ?

    Thanks for the reply,

The site does suffer some issues with spam, so people are wary - so thanks for explaining and providing your feedback to the site.

    Ps welcome to the forum!
