  • Sounds daft but by using this polycell or anything else is it suitable to paint over or should I just cut my loses and go get some textured wallpaper?

The Polycell is indeed fine to be painted over as our walls and ceilings can confirm :)

Has anyone tried Polycell SmothOver for Damaged walls? If the cracks are deeper, that might be an option. Haven't tried myself yet, but looking into it for when we move into next house, which has all walls wallpapered - never know what is going to happed when the wallpaper is removed!

I actually work for Polycell, can can say SmoothOver for Damaged Walls work a treat. However, if just covering hairline cracks, I would suggest polyfilla.

Yes. It is preparation needs for a complete finish once painted over.
