Just wondering if anyone's sent a passport application off recently and how long it's taken.

Hi, i sent ours of last Monday 6th at approx 3pm (2 adults and a child), had our passports returned Friday the same week. We had them checked via Post Office checking service thing.
I couldnt beleive how quick they actually arrived back.0 -
Did mine about about a month ago, took about 3 days, just used the old 1st class mail. Seems like everyone who needed to, renewed at the old price before xmas.0

Dropped mine in last monday and paid for 7 day return and i got mine through the door on wednesday!0

Renewed my 10 year passport 3 weeks ago, posted it 1st class recorded and got it back in 5 days without paying for any extra service.0

I still cannot believe that "moneysavers" pay EXTRA for the post office to do something that can be done yourselves.
Why?0 -
It took mine three weeks to get mine, but I did apply for a Jumbo passport, so it might have taken a bit longer."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

Why?
Because it's amazing the number of things that people get wrong, and the application ends up being returned to them!!
I work in a PO and the application does say complete in BLACK ink, doesn't it?!! :rolleyes:Leilasmum0 -

Why?
The reason is a fly on the 22nd and i cannot afford to wait upto 6 weeks for the passport to be returned and before anyone says anything i have been out of the country of the past few months only spending a few weeks in the uk at a time. Plus last time i did leave it to the passport office it came back with the wrong name on a renewal!0 -
Make sure your photos are correct.
A friend of mine just had hers returned due to the fact the person was too high up in the picture! Apparently, when they arrive, people check them and if they think they aren't correct, they send them back. My friend got onto the phone, the woman at the passport office checked the photo on the computer and confirmed with 4 of her colleagues that there was nothing wrong with it!!!!I haven't got one!0 -
Me and oh send ours of on 2nd Feb, oh received his on 11th Feb, sent son's of on 4th Feb and we both received ours today, 14th Feb, using bob standard 1st class post. Mine was a change of name, which is why I don't think I got it back earlier. Came quicker than I thought, was given a 3 week turnaround!0
