hi my friend is having a nightmare with his pc. every time he opens a page in the internet another whole page opens on top of it, usually adverts for mobile ringtones or chatlines, somethimes 2 or 3 pages , i have tried his windows updates and virus scans etc but it hasnt helped. any idea what is causing this? its…

Any 'monitoring' programs will slow the computer down to some degree. If you dont use it, either remove it, or stop it from starting up

Limewire ~ upto you. But it WILL download viruses with it every now and then
