thats it im leaving!

i rang virgin to try and sort out my internet (just rying to secure the network with a password) and was told even tho i got a virgin media wireess box , the main router (not sure if i using right words) actiontec which i i got while it was ntl, im not entailted to tecnocila support, unless i wanted to buy another router for about £50, whiched i replayed with well you having had a problem taking over my monthly payments, anway the man on phone offered me a larger package for the same price and gave me a number for actiontec teconcail support who will be able to talk me tho the progress as im really dumb at things like this, anyway i rang the helpline and was told the warrenty out of date and i would have to pay for support, i carnt belive ive been paying £18 per month for years , pluss the cost of wirless etc so ive decided to leave , i need a package where i get broadband, with rounter etc included, free tec support (even tho u guys r great) fastish speed as sometimes 3 people online at same time for around £18 per month any ideas? thanks very much for all your help (also do i just cancel virgin? do i need a mac code? me dreading changing dont want to miss one min on here

    A MAC would certainly make the switch a lot less painful.

    Do you have Sky? Their broadband is very cheap (ranging from free to £10 a month), and you get a free wireless router.

    i prefer to buy my own routers than use supplied ones
    usually overpriced or you can have issues with firmware upgrades etc

    do you have cable or adsl internet with virgin? (from the mention of NTL i am guessing cable)

    Pretty much all other providers are ADSL which comes through the phone line

    By how much money is a free wireless modem/router (as suggested by Marty J) "overpriced" ? :confused:

    I'm with Marty on this one - moved from BT to Sky about 18 months ago and never looked back. Their customer service and tech support is really helpful and never had cause for complaint. Plus the cost is a bonus too! Have gone the whole hog and sold my soul to them - tv, broadband, phone and line rental :)

    omg i didnt hink of that yea think it was cable , i dont want the phone line to be block as we online all the time x still confused thanks tho
