How Far Will FTSE Fall? I Need 100 Replies!

3282.
However your question is biased. You have specifically said "how far do you think it will fall", therefore excluding the opinions of all those people who think it will only rise.
I agree, they have said that if you dont think it will fall put 3800, even though it has already been down to 3665, oh never mind'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I appreciate that. I was just trying to keep the question and background information reasonably concise. The question was more to assess whether, and by how much, people thought the FTSE may go from its value at the time of asking, 3,800, going forwards. The 3,665 is a 12 month low, and if anyone feels the FTSE may return to that 12 month low before recovering then they can give 3,665 as an answer. Or they can give any other low they feel it will go to before moving up, or they can say that they feel the worst is over and they think it will move up now from the 3,800 point.
So long as people are good enough to offer their guesstimates, it will be appreciated.0 -
I think it will be down to around 2,500 in 3 or 4 years time.0

3700
But I question your methodology - I'm not sure that you'll get the most reliable answer since each incremental person gets to read what everyone else put before posting.0 -

True. But this method is not about reliability as such, only guesstimates and opinions, nothing more sophisticated. It's OK if later responders factor in opinions of earlier responses as people are exposed to other opinions all the time. All we need are gut reactions. If people were trying to look for the bottom of the market, have we reached it, or if not, what figure would they be looking for.
Thanks for your guesstimate.0 -
If we havent reached the bottom of the market so far, then I think it will be close if it bottoms out again so around 3500-3700. I dont think it will stabilize very long at this level though.
The insurance industry is now being hit pretty hard by the recession which could lead to this drop past previous lows as banks are also still weak.Living the good life spending all my money but loving it!!0 -
intra-day, or closing level ? Having checked my crystal ball I know the answer to both, just want to check which you want :-)0
