Hi Norfolk_Jim.
I'm really sorry to hear about your pup but I'm going to suggest something that you might think is a little left of centre but as you love her so much I thought I'd give it a go.
I'm a spiritualist by religion and part of our religion is spiritual healing. My best friend's dog who is 16 currently has a tumour on her liver and the vet has said she is terminal as they can't operate on her due to her age. I contacted my church and asked if I could take the dog for healing. They agreed and for the last 3 weeks i've been taking her for healing (which is free by the way unless you want to give a small donation towards the church) and it seems to be helping. She hadn't eaten in 3 weeks and was basically starving to death. Now she is eating like crazy and bouncing around like a puppy! She is on steroids also and I'm not daft enough to believe that this isn't helping, but I do think the healing is also giving her a boost. It's unlikely she'll beat it as she's so old but with your dog as she is a puppy and they can operate on her to remove the tumour, I would wholeheartedly suggest that you take her for healing at your local spiritualist church. It might well save her life. If you want some further advice or want me to give you a hand in finding a local church, PM me and I'll do all I can to help. Spiritualist churches are very loving and non-scary places (despite what some people think) and it might be the one thing that can help her if the vets can't. Give it some thought... Hope you are ok. My thoughts are with you.... x0 -
Hi Jim
we'll all be keeping our fingers crossed for your puppy tomorrow, please let us know how things are.

Hi Pollycat - feeling a little less extreme today, working with a good group of students and trying to keep my mind off things. Spoke with the children last night about Ruby, just the basics. Wife is really upset and didn't sleep last night. I'll let you all know what happens at the weekend.
I am very touched and surprised at the many sympathetic messages posted here in response to my get-it-all-off-your-chest rant yesterday. Who was it who wrote about the kindness of strangers? It helps - bless you all.0 -

How is the pup? And how are you?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Hello RAS, I collected pup last night. The tumour has gone away for further analysis, should know a bit more midweek. Good news was that they could not find any other sites either primary or secondary so now its a waiting game - watch and wait.
I'm feeling a bit washed out really. Hopefully the arrival of the weekend will allow some down time though TBH I spend a lot of any weekend looking for MSE or other ways of repaying my debts.
Thanks for asking.0 -
Hope it works out matey for you

Hi Jim.
It's great that they couldn't find anything else wrong with Ruby.
I hope the tests bring you more good news.

Thanks for the thoughts. Have been deeply embroiled in work problems. Ruby is back and forth to the vets. They still have some concerns about the tumour site, we just have to keep a close eye and take it day by day. I do feel very stressed out but on the positive side, just a few months ago I could not have taken this at all, so its an improvement that I'm coping more or less. Lots of bills - but then dont we all. Cheers.0
