i am looking for a different type of pushchair/buggy for my little girl who is 9 months
we would like a lightweight one as the big buggy is now to big to lug around the shops
I have looked around but would like something a bit different than everybody else seems to have
any ideas?
thanks

The problem is that most strollers all look the same no matter what make they are.
I love my Maclaren Techno XT, although it is the same as many others out there, you can choose your favourite colour and be sure that it is sturdy to last but fold up small.
Mine has travelled on many plane journeys been through muddy terraine and still looks brand new.0 -
hi thanks for replying
where did you buy it from?appreciate what you have got x0 -
i have maclaren techno xt too, i bought mine from kiddicare.com and its fab. you may find something you like on that site. most umbrella style folding buggies are the same, and i guess the maclaren techno is at the higher end of the price bracket, you can get much cheaper one, we normally take a much cheaper model abroad. (a mothercare cheapie number that i have driven over with my car and it refused to buckle !!)0

Look here for some Maclaren buggys http://www.glasgowpramcentre.co.uk/shop/discount.php?id=52
https://www.kiddicare.com also have a few
I have one of these http://www.babycare-direct.co.uk/prams_and_pushchairs_-_16a.html and can vouch for it. I got it brand new for a bargain price of £37 off of Ebay! There is the normal Citisport edition but it isnt as padded as the Citisport PlusA banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.0 -
I have a techno too, best buggy by far IMHO great quality, has a basket, is light easy to use and can pretty much stand up to anything, my last maclaren stroller lasted 3 children and 7 yrs.. says a lot for the quality really. IMHO not all strollers are the same, I have had a couple of cheaper ones also and i always find something that I hate about them!Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0

I have a maclaren Techno XT as well - it has extending handles so I dont have to bend forward and hurt my back when pushing, easy to fold up and light enough for carrying.

I got mine from kiddicare too, although the same models you can pick up on ebay for a fraction of the cost and they look in excellent condition.
In fact maclaren alter the fabric design and occasional features at least once a year, so ebay shops tend to sell the older designs much cheaper than the current one.
If you look for Techno XT when doing the ebay search you should be confident of a lasting one. Good luck
PS - personally I wouldn't be tempted to go for a cheaper type of maclaren the Techno XT has much sturdier wheels, making all terrain much better, it also has more extras making it a much more comfortable ride for all. It also has reflective trimming which makes it extra safe walking on pavements as the day begins to end. I have pushed friends cheaper maclarens and they just don't compare!
I list below a few examples

we found our cheap supermarket umbrella folding one worked fine just for going round shops. used for 2 years & still good enough to use when ds2 a bit bigger. think was tesco but is a long time ago!Cleaning the house while children are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing!0

Hi I don't know much about the different Maclarens but Mothercare have this one for £48.99 and free delivery. I had a Maclaren for my daughter and it was reliable and fairly sturdy.
I've got a Quinny Zapp for my son which I think is fab!! There's no shopping basket but I bought one in Morrisons for 79p which fits fine and can be left on when folded. It also folds down very small and can fit in the footwell of most cars. It's also super easy to push which is really important to me as I have a problem with my back and pelvis so I find some hard to push, especially when they've got a heavy child in them! :grinheart:smileyhea0
