Dial-up access with an NTL line

Hiya - wonder if you guys can help?
My OH had just signed up his phone line to NTL (A rented property so kind-of tied by what is already in the flat - no BT line unfortunately) and wants to get dial-up going for his rather clanky old PC. Does anyone know of any other provider, (with the exception of NTL) who can provide dial up access on an NTL line? NTL have been useless at providing a disk so he can use theirs.
Thanks!
PS: Happy Valentines! :happyhear

I'm sure I saw somewhere that you can get AOL dial-up across NTL cable, but can't remember where I saw it. I'll keep looking and if I see it I'll post a link.
I'm at work at the moment so apologies if I don't get back to you!
Edit: Here you go. AOL's terms and conditions for their Anytime Dial-Up state that: "To take advantage of this free trial (The Trial), you must (i) be 18 years or over; (ii) provide credit card details; (iii) access AOL using a PC or Mac; (iv) access AOL through a BT, ntl or Telewest (including Eurobell) telephone line."

I'm familiar with this problem! Various internet services were available in the past that worked on NTL lines other than NTL but the options are now very few!
AOL is available on NTL, just like NTL's own dial-up option. Both pricey but the only "unlimited" packages that remain available on NTL lines (I think), so if you're going to be a heavy user your stuck with one of these.
Depending on your usage, one option could be to use a different phone call supplier ( see http://wakeup.to/cheapercablecalls ) to make 0845 dial-up calls. You can choose any 0845 dialup ISP and pay less than the bonkers NTL prices for these calls. For example
NTL's own dial up is 3p/min daytime, 2p/min evening, 1p/min weekend AND subject to a 6p connection fee per call.
NTL's prices for 0845 phone numbers are 4.45p/min daytime, 2.45pmin evening and 1.45p/min weekend, plus the 6p connection fee.
However, if, for example, you signed up for free to someone like the Phone Coop, 0845 calls would be 3.95p/min daytime 1p/min evenings and weekends WITH NO CONNECTION FEE. Much cheaper for a start. You can also choose a phone coop tariff that best fits in for your phone calls too. You don't need to let NTL know.
Bascially all you do once you've set up your account is call a freephone number before every call - so nothing appears on your NTL phone bill. (The computer would also need to be set to do the same). You can join as many as the companies listed on http://wakeup.to/cheapercablecalls as you want to, to mix and match the bext deals! 1899 is probably worth a look, along side phone coop. My monthly NTL bill is always for line rental and not a penny more!!!
Hope this helps
